ABOUT PEACE AND WAR
By polish students
Kobylnica, january 2018
There is nothing left around us
Streets are empty and you can smell the fear
Ruins are all around, we hear the explosions, someone is yelling for help.
We don’t want this war, these fightings and suffering!
We are kids and our lives are getting worse and worse.
Dad has left and hasn’t come back.
Someone said that they bombed a shop where he used to work.
Everything turns down like a house of cards
Today you have the house, family
Tomorrow these things are worthless.
We want peace, parents next to us, friends and happiness
Going to school and house full of guests.” Basia, 13 years old
The morning is not the same
The fear is in our every cell
Bombs, guns and violence is around us
Our daily routine is not to trust.
Children are afraid of every shot
Are you our friend or maybe not.
We want to sleep in our peacefull house
Where we live together, a cat chases the mouse.
Where everyone is happy, not aware if someone is knocking the door
Where we spend time merily and playing board games on the floor.
No blood in towns, no armed soldiers on the streets.
Those things aren’t missed.
Let us be happy, let the sun shine on the sky that is blue
We want to spend time with our parents and our relatives too.
Marcel, 12
We - children want peace not a war.
The war destroys everything, we lose our mums, dads and houses.
And the soldiers only fight, like machines.
The peace makes us feel safe and happy.
Ania, 12
